OCT

The spectral optical coherence tomography (S-OCT) is a new eye imaging and diagnostic method. This technology achieves high resolution layered retinal images without contacting the eye.

It can also display the individual layers of the retina, as well as analyze qualitatively and quantitatively the macula and the optic nerve.
This allows the clinicians to diagnose and survey a wide range of diseases, such as macular edema, macular hole, age-related macular degeneration, epiretinal membrane, choroidal neovascularization, central serous retinopathy.

S-OCT is also useful in the diagnosis and surveillance of patients who suffer from glaucoma or macular edema in diabetic retinopathy because it can quantify the progression of the disease.
